WHAT WE OFFER

We specialize in medium to large-breed dogs. We use balanced training methods to help your dog overcome obstacles they may encounter through their different life stages. We offer a Dog School program that focuses on the specific needs of your dog, where they can earn a certificate of achievement. We also offer Beginner and advanced Obedience Training, One-on-One Private Lessons, Board & Train, and Modifications for Reactive and/or Aggression Behaviour. We also breed registered Cane Corsos.

At McMillan Mastiffs, our number one goal is to build a trusting relationship between the owner and their dog by practicing patience, consistency, and confidence. Like people, every dog is unique, so we tailor our training methods to their specific needs.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

BOARD & TRAIN

At our in-home board and train program your dog will undergo different scenarios outside, as well as inside a home environment. Your dog will be trained and socialized in different settings to make them comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings. For dogs boarding for four weeks or more, grooming services will be provided.

BASIC OBEDIENCE & LEASH TRAINING

Does your dog pull on their leash, do you wish your dog had better manners? We will teach you and your dog the fundamentals so you can enjoy your walks with confidence. We use a variety of tools such as slip leads, prong collars and clickers. These devices are used to maintain the dog’s attention while reinforcing positive behaviour for loose-leash walking.

DOG SCHOOL

This monthly program is ideal for new pet owners, or dogs beginning their adolescence stage. Similar to the private session, it focuses on the development of the dogs behaviour, inside and outside the house.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

In these one-on-one sessions, we focus on the specific needs of your dog. training locations are set in high-traffic volume areas such as dog parks. this is where we find training to be most effective, and the dogs to be receptive. At McMillan Mastiffs, we educate you on how your dog thinks, so that dog problems are prevented or solved. We do this by training your dog how to positively interact with you, other dogs, family, and friends.

ASSESSMENT

Please note, before your first training session you will need to download and return the completed training intake form to mcmillanmastiffs@gmail.com. A 1-hour mandatory assessment will take place in the amount of $51.99
