About Us
At McMillan Mastiffs, we focus on guiding you on how to achieve a well-mannered dog at home and in public. We consider obedience to be crucial in the process.
– Alyx Mcmillan, Lead Trainer
Alyx McMillan, the owner and founder of McMillan Mastiffs has been training dogs since his early teenage years. His first two dogs, (Chow Chow-German Shepherd mix), inspired him to teach others to understand and recognize their dog’s needs. When Alyx isn’t grooming, training, or caring for a litter, he can be found working with his Cane Corsos and Rottweilers.

REVIEWS
Meet Vegeta
Vegeta came all the way from Peru. He was with us for the three-week Board & Train Program. Vegeta was brought to us because he was pulling on the leash and displaying aggressive behaviours towards Maya, his Rottweiler companion, as well as other dogs. When Vegeta graduated from the program, he was walking correctly on the leash, playing with dogs, and happily coexisting with Maya. Congrats Vegeta, you’ve made it a long way!
Meet Wesson
Wesson was trained alongside his housemate Raider the Rottweiler. They both were displaying aggressive behaviours towards each other and could no longer live in the same home. These two needed to rebuild their relationship in order to live together peacefully. While in the program, they learned how to play and reside with each other. Now they go for walks together, play, and sleep in the same home. Keep up the good work you two!
Meet Apollo
Apollo was brought to us for the three-week Board and Train Program. He needed leash training and overall manners. We used various tools to help him along his journey which included a prong collar, slip leads, e-collars, and elevated beds. By the time Apollo completed the program, we had eliminated the leash pulling and unwanted behaviours in the house. He has learnt how to be off leash on walks, “place” in a controlled or stressful environment, and to appropriately socialize with dogs. We are extremely proud of you Apollo!
Meet Kho Kho
Kho Kho was enrolled in the three-week Board & Train Program because of her fear aggression. She would not let anyone, or other dogs approach her and was red flagged at multiple grooming salons. During Kho Kho’s stay, she was placed in multiple situations to encourage and build her confidence. By the time Kho Kho was discharged from the program, she had become friends with all the dogs in our pack. Kho Kho was willing to approach other dogs and people with confidence and was able to get a full spa treatment. We are all very proud of you Kho Kho, Keep it up!
Meet Storm
Storm was here for the six-week Board & Train Program. She was brought to us for leash manners, her lack of confidence, socialization, and to correct her overall behaviour. Storm was the talk of the ‘2022 Bullies R Us’ event because she was “placed” on the bench and did not move for the entire event. By the time Storm left the program, she was able to “place” in a controlled or stressful environment and walk with a loose leash. Storm also learned how to approach people and dogs confidently. Storm is a runner-up for the MMMVP. A job well done!
Meet Rocky
Rocky was enlisted in the one-week Board & Train Program. He was here for his leash reactivity, general manners, socialization, and aggression towards dogs. During Rocky’s stay, he learned how to socialize appropriately with dogs, walk on a loose leash, and to maintain a calm demeanour when inside the house. While he was in the program Rocky met his best friend, Ghost the Cane Corso. We hope to see you soon Rocky!
