Alyx has been extremely helpful for our fearful rescue dog, lacking socialization. When we arrived home with our 11 month old rescue, she was nervous of strangers, terrified of everyday sounds and challenging to walk on the leash. Following the board and train with McMillan Mastiffs, our rescue is much more confident and a joy to walk with. Alyx is very patient and knowledgeable which is evident in his dog school teaching. He has taught us how read and react to our dog’s behaviour as well as equipping us with the tools to help manage her anxiety going forth. We can’t thank Alyx enough for his help and would highly recommend McMillan Mastiffs.

Missy went to Alyx for 3 weeks of board and train and then private sessions afterwards and we are beyond impressed as always! Missy went for extreme fear and I was shocked at how much better she was after just 3 weeks!! I don’t know that I could have found a better dog trainer in Alyx. Even though I missed my dog in the 4 weeks that she was boarding, I received weekly phone updates, photos, regular videos of her progress, and participation in lives on social media(TikTok),which made it much easier to realize that she was in the right place. Alyx doesn’t hold back in what you need to change and what you need to do going forward so you can have the best relationship with your dog. Alyx is very open to answering any questions you might have anytime. I would highly recommend Alyx to anyone who wants the best for their dog.

I did a 3 week board and train for my Cane Corso Kenzo. Alyx did an amazing job in training Kenzo. My family and I are super grateful for McMillan Mastiffs detailed training.

From our very first call, I knew he was the right fit. You can immediately tell he has a deep understanding of dogs, behaviour, and training. He’s incredibly skilled and speaks with a calm confidence that only comes from real experience and genuine care for the dogs he works with. Before working with him, walks with my dog were extremely stressful and I was constantly being pulled around. Now, we can walk off leash and I genuinely look forward to our walks every day. My mom has been following Alyx on social media for years. We recently rescued a little terror who had a food aggression issue and was fearful of everything so when we needed a trainer, we trusted him to take our dog and bring out the potential he had within himself. He is a American bully/golden retriever cross. After 4 weeks of boarding, our dogs' confidence and demeanor has changed like night and day. We are currently in follow up sessions and doing as Alyx has asked of us to continue his training. He is now a joy to walk and we can even give him some freedom in the park off leash without worry. I highly recommend McMillan Mastiffs to anybody and everybody who has a fur baby that needs an overhaul. We couldn't be happier with our dogs' progress and look forward to many calm and unleashed walks in the months and years to ahead. Thanks Alyx, you live up to your reputation.
